Conditioning of the fingers/thumbs, hands, wrists and forearms can dramatically improve your ball and stick control. Building circulation, endurance, dexterity and strength will improve control of the lacrosse stick, as well as increase ball control. Speed, consistency and accuracy are greatly improved with healthy hands.
The following exercises are recommended for lacrosse:
Place fingertips on numbered buttons (1 for index finger, 2 for middle finger, 3 for ring finger, 4 for small finger), and position the curved end of the palm bar in the curved space between thumb and index finger. Keeping fingertips slightly bent, flex all fingers downward toward the center of the unit to compress springs.
VariGrip Sport is the only hand exerciser that has the patented ability to adjust the resistance level in each individual finger, allowing the athlete to create a custom program to build and improve circulation, endurance, strength and dexterity more effectively for individual fingers, as well as the entire hand, wrist and forearm. VariGrip Sport is the only exerciser of its kind that includes a callus builder, located underneath the base of the unit.
Originally designed for musicians, VariGrip’s Patented Variable Resistance Technology allows the athlete to adjust each individual finger’s resistance level. These adjustment knobs allow the athlete to customize their workout and condition their entire hand and forearm, increasing circulation and endurance while minimizing straining of weaker fingers. The base is ergonomically designed, and is extra wide in order to disperse pressure for maximum comfort and correct usage.
