  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Grasp Hold

    Hold the center of the UNO in one hand and use the other hand to grasp and twist the loop end (using wrist motion) to loosen it and then the other direction to tighten it. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Fine Motor Twist Off

    Hold the Center of the UNO in the fist of one hand and use the fingertips of the other hand to twist the loop-end to loosen it, and then the other way to tighten it. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Wrist – Lateral Motion – Ulnar (Pinky Side) / Radial (Thumb Side) Deviation

    Hold the UNO in your hand with a comfortable grip. Support your forearm with your other hand. Move your wrist to the pinky side, holding for 3 seconds, and then to the thumb side, holding for 3 seconds. Relax and repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Forearm Rotation

    Hold the UNO in your hand with a comfortable grip. Relax your arm by your side and bend (flex) the elbow about 90 degrees so the forearm is parallel to the floor. Turn your forearm so the palm faces up (supination) as much as you can and hold for 3-5 seconds. Then turn your forearm so the palm faces down (pronation) as much as you can and hold for 3-5 seconds. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Wrist Flexion/Extension – Gross Grasp Hold

    Hold the UNO in your hand with a comfortable grip. With the forearm supported on the edge of a table, move the wrist up (extension) as far as you can and hold for 3-5 seconds. Then move the wrist down (flexion) as far as you can and hold for 3-5 seconds. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Pinch Presses – Table Top (Switch Fingers)

    Hold the UNO with a firm pinch on the intended area of the adjustment dial with the flexion plunger facing down. Press the UNO down against the table top to compress the flexion plunger. Hold for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional, and then switch fingers.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Gross Grasp Presses – Table Top

    Hold the UNO with a firm grasp with the flexion plunger facing down. Press the UNO down against the table top to compress the Flexion Plunger. Hold for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Fine Motor Dial Turns

    Hold the UNO is the hand you are NOT exercising. Using the two fingers you want to exercise, turn the adjustment dial. While keeping the finger tips bent (flexed), slowly turn the dial 10 times in one direction – slowly – then 10 times the opposite way. Switch fingers and repeat.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Finger Adduction / Abduction (USE EXERCISE LOOP)

    Hold UNO in the hand you are NOT exercising with the exercise loop to the side. Put the finger you want to exercise into the loop. Pull UNO so there is a little resistance on the loop. While holding the finger straight, move the finger away from the UNO and hold 3-5 seconds. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional. SWITCH direction (different photo needed) of the UNO and repeat. Do this with each finger.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Finger Tip Flexion Pulls (USE EXERCISE LOOP)

    Hold UNO in the hand you are NOT exercising – with the exercise loop facing upward. Put the fingertip you want to exercise palm up, into the loop. Hold the UNO so there is a little resistance on the ring. Bend (flex) the finger, pulling against the ring, holding for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Finger Flexion Flicks (USE EXERCISE LOOP)

    Hold UNO in the hand you are NOT exercising with the exercise loop facing upward. Hold the UNO near the hand you are exercising and flick (flex) a finger against the ring. Exaggerate the movement by bending and straightening the finger as much as you can. Do this 10 times slowly. Relax repeat 10 times more, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Finger Extension Flicks (USE EXERCISE LOOP)

    Hold UNO in the hand you are NOT exercising with the exercise loop facing upward. Make a loose fist with the hand you are exercising and hold the UNO near the fist. Straighten (extend) a finger and flick the ring with it, repeating 10 times slowly. Relax, then repeat 10 times more, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Tripod Pinch – on Finger (USE EXERCISE LOOP)

    Hold UNO in the hand you are NOT exercising with the exercise loop facing upward. Place the tips of 3 fingers you are exercising on the edges of the loop. While keeping the space between the three fingers rounded (all joints slightly bent) pinch the ring to flatten it, while pulling the loop away from the other hand. Hold for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Tip to Tip Pinch and Pull (switch fingers, USE EXERCISE LOOP)

    Hold UNO in the hand you are NOT exercising with the exercise loop facing upward. Place tip of the thumb and finger you want to exercise on the edges of the loop. While keeping the space between the two fingers rounded (all joints slightly bent) pinch the loop and pull away from the other hand. Hold for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, (or as instructed by a healthcare professional). Repeat for all fingers.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Intrinsic – PIP/DIP Finger Extension (USE EXERCISE LOOP)

    Put the fingertip you want to exercise into the exercise loop. Hold UNO loosely with your other hand with the exercise ring at the top. Start with the two small joints bent (flexed) and the base of the finger straight (extended). Without moving the entire arm or hand, straighten the two smaller joints as if to point direction. Hold the finger straight for 3-5 seconds, then relax finger back to starting position. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    EDC – Full Finger Extension (USE EXERCISE LOOP)

    Put the specific finger you want to exercise all the way through the exercise loop. Hold UNO loosely with your other fingers with the exercise loop at the top. Start with the two smaller joints straight and the base of the finger bent (flexed) as much as you can. You can also use your other hand to help stabilize the UNO. Without moving the entire arm or hand, just raise the finger as if to point direction hold the finger straight for 3-5 seconds, then relax back into starting position. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Finger Hook Flexion

    Hold UNO loosely in your palm so that the index finger tip can rest on top of the flexion plunger. The other fingers will be under the flexion stabilizer (flared portion). You can also use the other hand to help stabilize the UNO base. Bend (flex) the index finger tip to compress the plunger. Both joints will bend. Hold for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Thumb – Composite - Full Flexion (toward palm)

    Hold the UNO in your hand (grasp with ring and small fingers) with the side of the ring finger resting under the flexion stabilizer (flared portion). Place the thumb tip on the flexion plunger and bend BOTH thumb joints to compress the plunger, hold 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Thumb Opposition

    Hold the UNO in the web space between the ring and small fingers under the flexion stabilizer – Place the thumb tip on the flexion plunger and bend the two thumb joints while keeping the thumb as far away from the palm as possible for opposition. Hold 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Tip Pinch (IV-V finger tips)

    This is similar to the Tripod Pinch above but uses the ring and small finger (pinky) tips. Hold the UNO with the loop end upward. Place the UNO between the ring and small finger with the tips resting on the flexion stabilizer. Place the thumb tip on the flexion plunger. While keeping all the joints slightly bent (flexed) move the finger tips toward the thumb tip and pinch. Hold for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional. Try to maintain a C position as in photo.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Tripod Pinch
    (II-III finger tips)

    Hold the UNO with the loop end upward. Place the UNO between the index and long (middle) finger with the tips resting on the flexion stabilizer. Place the thumb tip on the flexion plunger. While keeping all the joints slightly bent (flexed) move the finger tips toward the thumb tip and pinch. Hold for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional. Try to maintain a C position as in photo.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Thumb MP Flexion

    Hold the UNO, under the stabilizer in the web space between your ring and small fingers. Place the bottom of the first thumb (IP) joint on the flexion plunger and bend (flex) ONLY the 2nd joint (MP) of the thumb. Keep the IP joint straight. Hold 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • VARIGRIP UNO:
    Thumb TIP Flexion

    Hold the UNO in your hand (grasp) with the side of your index finger resting under the flexion stabilizer (flared portion). Place your thumb tip on the flexion plunger and bend ONLY the tip of the thumb to compress the plunger, hold 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 10 times slowly, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
VARIGRIP UNO INSTRUCTIONS

To increase resistance level, turn resistance knob counter-clockwise. It is important to begin all exercises slowly and to use low resistance with few repetitions. Hold each position for 3-5 seconds, then relax. Repeat 5-10 times. Over time, increase to 3 sets of 10 (30 repetitions total). When graduating to a higher resistance level, begin with 5-10 repetitions and build slowly.

Instructions:

Pour augmenter le niveau de résistance, tournez le bouton de réglage de la résistance dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre.
